Common Vaping Questions

What is vaping?

Vaping involves e-liquid that is heated and vaporized. E-liquid consists of a mixture of pure liquid nicotine, dilution bases and flavoring. Once heated by an electronic cigarette, e-liquid is vaporized which creates the cloud that you inhale and exhale. The process of inhaling and exhaling the vaporized e-liquid is what creates the vaping experience.Vaping is defined by inhaling and exhaling vapor produced by an electronic cigarette or similar device.

How to make E Juice

What are E-cigarettes or e-cigs?

Electronic cigarettes are battery-powered devices that heat liquid usually containing nicotine, vegetable, glycerin, propylene glycol, and flavoring. E-cigs use an atomizer to heat e-liquid in order to create the vapor that you inhale. E-cigs can either be rechargeable or disposable. Rechargeable e-cigarettes will have to be refilled with e-juice once the e-liquid runs out. This is something that can be done with e-juice you created.

What is e-liquid?

E-liquid is the substance used for vaping. E-liquid can be either plain or flavored depending on your preference. The following substances are combined to create e-liquid:

  • Liquid Nicotine
  • Dilution bases ( propylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerin)
  • Flavoring

What is the difference between propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin?

Both propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin are dilution bases for liquid nicotine, however, they each have a different effect on the consistency of the e-liquid.

Propylene glycol is a thin carrier fluid that is used to evenly distribute ingredients of the nicotine and flavoring in the e-liquid. Propylene glycol is colorless, tasteless, and nearly odorless and also helps to provide a subtle throat hit.

Vegetable glycerin is a thicker liquid than propylene glycol. Vegetable glycerin is mostly used for vapor production. This means, the more vegetable glycerin used in your e-liquid, the thicker your cloud production will be.

Why does liquid nicotine has several strengths?

When browsing our site, you will notice that our liquid nicotine comes in a variety of strengths. In fact, we sell strengths from 0 mg of nicotine to 100 mg. The variety of strengths signifies the milligrams of liquid nicotine that is found within the solution. These varying amounts can allow you to choose how much liquid nicotine you would like in your E-juice.  It is important to look at the strength of your liquid nicotine solution because any amount above 24 mg must be further diluted in order to be safe for consumption.

Difference Smoking vs Vaping

What flavoring is available for E-liquid?

There is a vast amount of flavoring available to add to e-juice.  From dessert flavors to fruit flavors, e-liquid can be flavored to satisfy any taste. Some of our flavorings include apple, raspberry, vanilla cupcake, energy drink, and menthol. E-liquid flavoring can also be combined to provide a unique flavor for you. The combination of multiple flavors can led to unique mixes that enhance your vaping experience.

What Supplies are needed to create your own e-liquid?

When it comes to creating your own e-liquid, you will need a few ingredients and supplies.

First, you will need to purchase three ingredients: liquid nicotine, dilution bases (PG and VG), and flavoring. Once you have purchased all of the ingredients necessary to make your e-juice, it will then be time to mix it.

To start mixing, you will need to make sure that you are adding the correct amounts of each ingredient. You can do this by using online tools such as our e liquid calculator. This calculator will help you customize your e-liquid and will give you the exact measurements you need to keep your e-liquid safe.

You want to make sure you have the correct supplies for accurate measurements. We suggest using measuring syringes and/or graduated cylinders when making your own e-liquid.

Once you have properly mixed your ingredients, you have an e-juice that is ready to vape!

Difference Smoking vs Vaping

What is the difference between smoking and vaping?

In terms of a scientific explanation of what happens when you vape versus what happens when you smoke, e-cigs and cigarettes are hardly even comparable.

Smoke is a byproduct of combustion. To get smoke you must burn something. When you burn something, a massive series of chemical reactions is put into motion. Burning is a deconstructive process that produces thousands of chemicals and dangerous byproducts such as carbon monoxide. Cigarette smoke consists of partially burnt particles that creates tar in your body, has cancer-causing effects, blackens teeth, and destroys taste buds.

While it may resemble smoke, vaping is not at all like smoking. Vapor comes from heating a liquid. Liquids are easily vaporized. Vaping heats the active ingredients enough to become aerosolized without starting a combustion reaction with other compounds.  Therefore, you are not in harms way of the thousands of chemicals created when something is burnt. By avoiding combustion, vaping will minimize your exposure to toxins.

Is vaping Safe?

The question as to whether or not vaping is safe is a highly disputed topic inside and outside of the vaping community. At this point in time, because of the unknowns, nobody can say that vaping is safe. But when compared to smoking, vaping has some benefits.

While regular cigarettes contain a variety of harmful chemical additives and carcinogens that affect your health, the liquid used in an e-cigarette contains only liquid nicotine, propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, and flavoring. Therefore, vaping has shown to have much lower levels of toxic substances and carcinogens compared to those found in cigarette smoke.

So far, the evidence suggests the biggest danger from tobacco is from the combustion and smoke, and e-cigarettes non-combustible.

Is Nicotine Harmful?

Nicotine is a highly addictive substance, but e-cig users can get their fix without the deadly carcinogens such as tar that comes along with combustible cigarettes. Nicotine is not the harmful ingredient in tobacco. There is no medical evidence showing nicotine is any more harmful than caffeine. However, pure nicotine in its highest concentration is a poison and can be extremely harmful if ingested, spilled on skin, or inhaled.

Is E-liquid containing nicotine dangerous?

Yes, nicotine is poisonous. Keep all E-liquids containing nicotine locked up and away from your children or pets. If ingested, nicotine can be deadly.

What is Diacetyl?

Diacetyl is an artificial ingredient used to give a buttery flavor. Diacetyl has been proven to be harmful to your lungs. Make sure your e-liquids do not contain Diacetyl.  Many questions surround the safety of inhaling flavoring. You do not have to flavor your e-liquid. Try vaping our unflavored e-liquid ranging from 0mg/mL to 24mg/mL.

Can I Vape Unflavored E-liquid?

Yes. Many people do just that! Our unflavored e-liquids already have a slightly sweet taste on their own, thanks to the vegetable glycerin that is used in our e-liquid. Try it out! Just make sure to stay below 24mg/mL. Anything higher than 24mg/mL must be diluted before use with an electronic cigarette.
